Milestones of Moulvibazar BNSB Eye Hospital

1974

• Eye Camp Started in Moulvibazar through BNSB, (Bangladesh National Society for the Blind), Chittagong.

1981

• BNSB Moulvibazar has established.
• Rural Remote Eye Camp Program Started.

1983

• The foundation stone was laid by the then Communication Minister Rear Admiral Mr. M.A. KHAN.

1986

• Ms. Rosi Gollmann, Founder President of Andheri Hilfe e.V. inaugurated the Hospital building and Hospital activities started in a full swing.
• School Eye Health Care Program Started.

1993

• Foundation stone of Hospital new OPD building was laid by the then Planning and Finance Minister Mr. M. Saifur Rahman.

1999

• Hospital's new OPD building inaugurated by the then Deputy Commissioner and President of BNSB Moulvibazar Mr. G.K.M Nurul Amin.
• Started Intra Ocular Lens (I.O.L) implantation.

2001

• Introduced Manual Small Incision Suture less Cataract Surgery (SICS).

2002

• Installed a Phacoemulssifier and also started a well equipped and modern laboratory.
• Started the activities of Cataract Clinic and Corneal Clinic.
• Hospital Pharmacy activity has started. Now patients can get necessary medicine at a low price.

2005

• Specialized Pediatric Unit started its journey by the support of ORBIS International.
• IHMS (Integrated Hospital Management System) software installed to keep Patients' Medical Record. 2008
  • PEC (Primary Eye Care) Center started in Habiganj district.

2007

• Hospital Optical shop started.

2008

• PEC started in Hobigonj district.

2010

• Ms Elvira Greiner, President of ANDHERI HILFE, Germany inaugurated the hospital modern OT complex.

2011

• Hospital established Glaucoma Sub-special unit.

2014

• National Chilhood Blindness Project (NCBP) has started its journey. This project jointly implemented by Orbis and BNSB Moulvibazar.

2016

• New primary eye canter started at Nabigonj upazilla under Hobigonj district.

2019

• Another Vision Center established in Kulaura upazilla in Moulvibazar.

2021

• An women lead green vision center established in Baniachang upazilla under Hobigonj district jointly supported by Orbis and Moulvibazar B N S B Eye Hospital.
• A vision center established in Derai upazilla in Sunamgonj district.
